For those of you who are curious: Yes, Chad did write "love" backwards on the griddle in pancake batter so it would be frontwards after it was flipped and done. He's like that.

Oh, Christmas tree

On Saturday we put up our Christmas tree. Chad and I put it up, and the kids decorated it. All on their own. This was a first for us, and I ended up really liking how it worked out. They started at the bottom with decorations and went as high as they could reach. Then they got the little stepstool out of the bathroom and decorated a bit higher. Then they got the big stepstool they use in the kitchen so they could decorate almost to the top of the tree. The top foot or so is a bit bare, but I know they did it on their own, and I love it!

And here's a close-up of the eclectic, cram-packedness of our tree. It's crazy full, and I love it -- because the kids did it all on their own, and that means it's a tree decorated with love!
