Different generation
You know you're in a different generation when your 3-year-old pulls a business reply card out of a magazine and declares, "It's an e-mail!"

Realize you need room in your fridge for a 16" pizza pan.
Empty shelf in fridge.
Take picture in fridge.
Drink a glass of milk.
Or, if you want the actual recipe, here it is.
Chocolate Chip Sensation
1 batch chocolate chip cookie dough (premade refrigerated roll or homemade)
8 oz cream cheese
1/3 cup sugar
1 small pkg instant chocolate pudding
1 quart cool whip (I used 16 oz tub since that seemed the most quart-like)
Chocolate chips
Spread the cookie dough out on a large round cooking stone or pizza pan (mine was 16"). DO NOT put the dough all the way to the edge of the pan. Bake according to recipe temperature for 10-15 minutes, until desired doneness. Let cool. Mix cream cheese and sugar. Spread over cookie. Mix instant pudding and cool whip; put on top of cream cheese layer (do not mix the pudding and cool whip ahead of time, wait till you are ready to use it). Top with chocolate chips. Enjoy!
Always surprising me
Kendra's playing with the ClickStart and is writing different words. She just spelled out OPUZITS. She sounded out "opposites" all on her own, close enough that I knew what it was. Perfect spelling, no. Pretty stinkin' good for 4 years old, oh yeah! :)
-----
Kendra: Now we need 4 bites. Thats two plus two. Can you take two bites and then two more bites?

Santa and his slaves
Last night at supper, I was reading from a Bible story book. It was about the Israelites being the Egyptians' slaves. I asked the kids if they knew what slaves were. They all thought for a few seconds, then
Evan: Yeah! They're, like, someone makes someone else their slave and they have to do all the work.
Mommy: Yeah, that's right. It's when someone...
Laura: Yeah! Like Santa!
Mommy: What?
Laura: Like Santa has!
Mommy: How are slaves like Santa?
Laura: Like Santa has a sleigh!
Mommy (laughing): Yes, Santa does have a sleigh. But we're talking about slaVes. I do love you an awful lot though, and good job thinking about the question!
Never think that a child doesn't know what they're talking about. They know. It's just if you can keep up enough to follow their train of thought!

Love
Stop! In the name of love...
Have I mentioned lately that I love them?
And that I love him?
Because I do!
Merry Kissmoose!
No, wait. Wrong holiday.
Happy Valentine's Day!

Obedience issues
If the mommy says, "please leave all the bed stuff in the beds."
And then the hallway looks like this.
I think we can safely say
we might have some obedience issues.
