Gentle reminder
Dear Laura,
When you tell Mommy, "I spilled". Mommy will believe you. Mommy will ask you if it's juice, and then when you say, "yes", Mommy will grab the dishrag and wipe off your chair. However, after Mommy sits you down on the floor to fix your sock and you announce, "I pottied on my sock!", Mommy will be ooked out that she just wiped up potty with the dishrag. So, to review, if you potty on your chair, please just tell Mommy right away that it's potty. Thank you.
Love,
Mommy
P.S. The potty-covered dishrag was good motivation for Mommy to get a load of laundry going, so thanks for the help being productive.

A very hairy post
When you know your girls have at least one gene in common.
(You can decide if it's a hair gene or an I-like-to-wear-pink gene.)
When you know your Little Tikes chairs cause electricity.
When you know it's been too long since you cut your husband's hair.
(Alternately titled: When you know your husband will probably give you a dirty look for posting a picture of his very-short-lived [like 3 minutes short-lived] mohawk.)

Aw shucks
Evan's new phrase lately has been "aw shucks", which is pretty cute. Earlier today when he and Kendra were playing, he was saying "shuckedy shuck", which is still pretty funny.
But then Kendra started saying "shuckedy schuck". But she was using an S sound instead of an SH sound. So it sounds like she's saying "suckity suck". Which is funny, but not cute and not really something I need her to be saying.
----------
Evan's been making a "boopy" sound a lot lately. It's not as a word; it's just as a happy sound. Boopy! However, when I pick him up from preschool and he's excited to see me, he'll run up and start patting me on the legs, tummy, wherever he can reach, saying "boopy! boopy! boopy!" But occasionally he pats slightly higher than my tummy and then it starts to look like he's saying "booby! booby! booby!" Today we had a talk about him possibly needing to find a new happy sound.
----------
Today Evan referred to a character while he was playing as "you tar". I found this odd and slightly disturbing. I think I asked what that meant or where he heard it, but it's possible that he just answered because he knew I was going to ask. He said, "it's just a made up word. It's short for 'guitar'. Mom, what's short for 'guitar'? And what's short for 'ooooh'?" I'm pretty sure he just talked his way around having referred to someone as "you tar". And I'm pretty sure I should watch how often I use the phrase "you 'tard" within hearing distance of my kids.

Buggy's bugs
Laura doesn't like for her food to have "bugs" or "ow's". Bugs and ows can refer to any part of her food that she thinks doesn't belong -- grill marks on meat, holes in bread, seeds on strawberries, and anything that is not quite perfect about her food.
Tonight during supper, Laura was telling me there was a spider on her plate (all bugs are spiders for her). I started to tell her it was just a pancake crumb as I looked over at her plate. Nope, not a crumb. It was indeed a bug. A gnat had flown into her syrup and was drowning a sweet, sugary death.
I'm guessing this will not discourage her belief that her food has bugs.
