(Un)safe place

I just hollered, asking where Evan and Kendra were. Laura told me they're in the laundry room, and Evan's in the washer. Evan came to see what I'd hollered about.
Mommy: Were you in the washer?
Evan: Yes. We're playing Tornado and that was my safe place.

Sigh...

Plotting

I overheard my 13-year-old daughter telling my 15-year-old daughter their plan for sneaking out of the house to a party.

No, wait. They're not 13 and 15. They're 3 and 5, and the plan was sneaking to the park.

I'm not sure if that makes it better or worse.

P.S. To any local people: If you see my daughters at the park unattended, please send them back home.
