First words
Laura's starting to expand her vocabulary past her trademark "oh". She's been saying "hi" to me some in the last few days when I say hi to her. Yesterday and today she started saying "bubbo" back to me. Bubbo is a nickname Evan has had since he was just a few days (weeks?) old, and she hears it a lot. When she hears me say it, she concentrates really hard with her mouth moving before any sound comes out. Then there will be an adorable little Bub ... Boh. It's adorable and hilarious and oh so precious!

Evolution of words
A special treat snack in our house is the cereal Reese's Puffs. Evan doesn't know the word Reese's, so he calls them Mrs. Puffs. Kendra doesn't know the word Mrs., so she calls them Mr. Puffs.

A post just for Laura
Laura doesn't seem to get too many posts dedicated just to her, so I'll let her have this one. Then, I promise, I'll quit posting for today.
Laura is getting to such a fun age. She's starting to play back. She loves playing pattycake. She likes playing with my hands and putting them on her face and head. She plays "chase" with Evan and Kendra. She is more tickly than I thought kids could be at this age. When she leaves her room before I do, she stops to check and make sure I'm following her. She stops in the middle of nursing to look at me, smile, and say "oh", then resumes nursing. She gives hugs. And she's starting to understand what different words mean. Some of the words she understands are: yes, no, don't, and naughty (which she might hear me say to her siblings somewhat frequently). Her response to these words? All the same. Every single one gets the same reply. Watch the video to see what she does (and don't miss the hug at the end!).
For now, I think this is hilarious and adorable. If she's still saying "no" to everything I say when she's 2, I might rethink its cuteness...

Random pictures
A few random pictures from this past week.
Kendra, after cuddling herself up in the "squishy tote" (the tote where we keep "squishy" toys) when she was supposed to be napping in bed. No, she's not actually asleep.

Kendra in her princess outfit she didn't wear. The "dress" is 3 gauzy aprons tied around her. The crown is the one she made at storytime a couple weeks ago.

Halloween
Our kids play Mr. Potato Head a lot. Our kids don't trick-or-treat (because they really like answering the door and handing out candy to the trick-or-treaters who come to our house). When asked what he was going to be for Halloween, Evan answered, without hesitation, "Mr. Potato Head!" I couldn't really pass that up. Too cute, and too easy. So, below is his costume.
And him in his costume after getting a glow-in-the-dark necklace and candy bar from the firemen parked across the street.
What was Laura? Nothing at all. I have a cow costume that's her size, but I didn't even get it out. She was content dressing up as "cute".

Jeans and a long-sleeved t-shirt. But she told a lot of people that she was a princess for trick-or-treat. At least she got a lot of chuckles!
