Handing over the reins

I
think
I
will
hand
the
picture-taking
reins
over
to
Kendra
 now.
Or maybe not.

Why I rarely finish a task

This is why I often appear to not accomplish much during the day...
I started to clean up the breakfast mess when
I remembered that I'd washed the kitchen towel last night and wouldn't have a towel to dry my hands on.
I went to get the towel from the dryer when
I realized I should get a load of laundry started.
I went to grab the hamper when
I noticed the bathroom light was still on because the shade was still shut.
I was opening the bathroom shade when
I saw the last roll of toilet paper that was in the bathroom needed put on.
I went in the hall to grab toilet paper out of the closet when
I saw the girls' bedroom door was still shut.
I was opening their door when
I noticed their sound machine was still on and their shades were still shut.
I turned off their sound machine.
I opened their shades.
I put toilet paper in the bathroom.
I grabbed the hamper.
I started a load of laundry.
I put the towel back in the kitchen.
And I headed to blog this when
I noticed the breakfast mess still wasn't cleaned up.

Oh, how I've missed thee...

Tonight is Kendra's preschool graduation (let's not talk about how she got so old so quickly), and the kids will be up way past their bedtime tonight. So the girls are supposed to take naps this afternoon. They're both in their beds, and I haven't heard a peep. Oh, how I've missed naptimes!

But, to be fair, I don't miss being tied down by naptime, nor do I miss the naptime struggle. But I do miss the few minutes of peace and quiet. [contented sigh]

P.S. I absolutely cannot believe that I made it through typing 6 whole sentences about the quietness of naptime without someone yelling or coming out of their room. Unbelievable!

Functionally speaking 2.0

Scene: Laura is holding the mallets for a musical chime. Kendra is nearby.

Kendra: Don't stick them in your pants. That means your underwear.
Laura: Don't say that! She's talking functially!

Apparently the word "functionally" was too long, so now it's just "functially". And apparently "underwear" is now a bodily function.

Acceptable?

Would it be weird if I took a picture of the inside of my bottom desk drawer to show off how nice it looks after I cleaned it today?

I'm assuming yes.
