[Laura crawls into bed beside me at 1:10 this morning, after Chad and I were gone all day yesterday on a Christmas shopping date.]
Lynnette: Hi, sweetie pie. Wanna snuggle?
[Mommy and Laura snuggling close]
Lynnette: What's wrong? Did you have a bad dream, or do you need to potty, or were you just checking to see if Mommy and Daddy made it home?
Laura: Just checking to see if you made it home.
Lynnette: Ok. Do you want me to carry you back to your bed or do you want to walk?
Laura: Carry me.
----------
[Evan and Kendra having a discussion in the back of the van]
Evan: I assure you...
----------
Laura: After supper [because all meals are supper to her], can I have lobsters?
Chad: Huh? Lobsters?
Laura: Yeah. After supper, can I have my lobsters out of my Halloween candy?
Chad: You have lobsters in your Halloween candy?
Laura: Yes.
Chad: [looks in Halloween basket] These?
Laura: YES!
[Chad shows me a little pack of Gobstoppers.]
----------
Chad: And here's Daddy's candy!
Kendra: What is it?
Chad: Chocolate covered espresso beans. Do you want to smell them?
Kendra: Yuck. They don't smell good.
Chad: Do they smell like coffee?
Laura: I want to smell them! [smells them] Mmmmm!
Kendra: What do they taste like?
Chad: Like really strong mocha.
Kendra: Yuck.
Laura [at the exact same time]: Yum!!!

Chad praying before lunch and thanking God for specific things about each of our kids. I wish I remembered what they all were; it was wonderful!
