Mommy ears

In seven years, I think this is the first time I've forgotten to turn on my "mommy ears" when I went to bed. You know, those ears that bring you out of deep sleep if someone stirs a little too much in their bed, those ears that seem to be able to hear the bad dreams in your kids' heads, those ears that tell you whose feet are getting out of which bed before they even hit the floor. Yeah, those ears. I forgot to turn those ears on last night. So I woke up at 1:40 this morning to Laura kneeling on my pillow.

Apparently I forgot to turn on the someone's-crawling-over-you-to-get-in-your-bed sensors also.
