Bedtime worries

-It depends on who's saying it, sweetiepie. Sweet Tart says it "criss cross applesauce, spoons in the pot" like your arms are the spoons when you're making a pot of applesauce, so it just really depends on who's saying it.

-Mommy? Mommy? I'm really, really, really sorry I broke our bus Silly Band. I know how much you liked it.
-That's ok, sweetiepie. [It was a very "sweetiepie" night at bedtime tonight.] I'm not upset about it. I knew that Silly Bandz break and that it wouldn't last forever. I thought it was a fun shape, that's all.
-But you liked it, and I'm really, really sorry!
[continued for several teary minutes]

The stairstep cousins

At Evan's birthday each year, the ages of Evan, his sisters, and their cousins are all consecutive.

As a photographic record of this, I like taking a picture of them all together at his birthday, if everyone can be there.

This is 2007.

The ages were 6 - 5 - 4 - 3 - 2 - 1 - 0 - (negative 2 1/2 months)

I didn't have them standing though, and I didn't have them in the correct order.

And the 0 had gone home already.

But it was my first attempt, so let's not be too critical.

My next chance was 2009.

Here they are 8 - 7 - 6 - 5 - 4 - 3 - 2 - 1. And standing in the correct order.

My most recent opportunity was the weekend before last.

They are 9 - 8 - 7 - 6 - 5 - 4 - 3 - 2.

Do I plan on continuing this photo for as many years as I can? You betcha!

Also, as a fun aside, Chad's sister figured out that if we were to get together with them between the 21st and 26th of this month, we could take a picture of Chad, me, Chad's sister, and her husband at the ages of 35 - 34 - 33 - 32. For some reason, I don't think this picture would be as cute as the one of the kids...
