That's a good man

This morning I reminded the girls at 7:05 to get dressed. At 7:40, Laura was still sitting in the corner of their room, on top of her jammies, pouting about having to put on long pants instead of capris. Chad went in there and quickly put clothes, of his choosing, on her. As soon as he had the now-throwing-a-fit Laura dressed, he promptly walked to the kitchen and started making coffee.

That's a good man.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go ask him to make it a double since I have to go get groceries with the still-throwing-a-fit Laura in a little bit.

Birthday hostage take-over

So, I sit down at the computer after lunch to work, just like every day.
And at 1:45, my computer pops up an audio file
that's playing an instrumental version of Happy Birthday.
I thought it was cute.
That Chad must have scheduled it
to do that when he knew I'd be at my desk.
But then a Word document opened with a sign in it.
And I no longer know if I should feel flattered and loved.
Or if I should be concerned that Chad has
taken over my computer without my knowledge
while he's somewhere other than home.

You're welcome

Dear 1st grade teachers and parents,

When I asked Evan what he wanted to take to school for his birthday treat, his first answer was Fiber One bars. I steered him in a different direction.

You're welcome.

Life Lessons from Lynnette

When your son tells you after church on Sunday that he filled his pants pocket with pink Kleenex and pieces of a broken styrofoam cup so he can do a craft with them later, remember that on Monday before you put his pants in the washer.

If I must

Laura: Mommy, can I watch a Diego movie?
Mommy: No, but I brought up the Izzy and Og movie from downstairs.
Laura: Yeah! Izzy and Og! ... But we can't watch all of it.
Mommy: You don't want to see all of it?
Laura: Yeah, I guess it's ok. I can watch all of it.

ThriftyBoy

What do you do when your favorite socks get a hole in them that's too big for Grandma to darn?

Turn them into a superhero costume, of course!

Couldn't be me...

Because I'd never say, "Let's let Laura have another drink of that coffee when we get home so she can make it through until bedtime," about my 3-year-old.
