If you've ever been to our house and wonder why our walls are so bare, this is why.
Tonight, Chad tried to hang my new picture frame up in our bedroom using an air nailer (because we're fully aware that a hammer and nails don't work on our hard hard walls). This is what happened to the nail. Barely in the wall. Bent into most of an S shape due to the solidness (solidity?) of the wall. It wouldn't come out. Chad finally got it pulled out with a pliers, wherein the nail took a half-inch of wall with it. This is why we don't hang stuff on our walls.

Eating healthy
While working at the computer today, I was snacking on trail mix (the nuts, raisins, M&M's kind of trail mix), Laura was napping, and Evan and Kendra were coloring Mario Kart coloring pages (because Mario Kart is their new obsession). Evan comes to my desk for me to "fix" his coloring page, and he starts snacking on my trail mix. After a bit, I looked at him and said "he-ey!" because I thought he was eating just the M&M's. But I caught him peanut-handed instead of red M&M-handed. He was eating all the parts of it. He took some back to the table with him, and Kendra sees it. She wants M&M's. Evan was conveniently ignoring her pleas. I went to the kitchen and got her a handful of marshmallows. She asked for more "smarshmallows". I told her no. She asked for the different colored smarshmallows. I told her no and that we don't have any anyway. She asked for chocolate chips. I told her I was on the phone for work. When I got off the phone, I heard snippets of the following conversation.
Kendra: Can I have an M&M?
Evan: If you give me one of your smarshmallows, I'll give you an M&M. [He calls them smarshmallows only when he's answering Kendra about said smarshmallows.]
Kendra: Ok!
[Mommy uses her brain for work instead of listening to her children.]
Evan: My teacher says you can't eat just sugar.
[Mommy misses something.]
Kendra: I ate my raisin.
Evan (in his grown-up voice): Ok. Now you may have an M&M.
At least we have an even dried fruit to sugar ratio.

Happy Christmas memories
Nothing says "happy Christmas memories" as well as pictures.
Ahh, what a great Christmas!
(My apologies to my in-laws who I did not request prior approval from in using the not-so-great pictures we took of them. I really couldn't help myself though!)
