Trick or treat

Getting ready ... at 7:50 this morning.

Waiting patiently ... at 7:52 this morning.

The lovely fairy ... wearing her truck jammies and letting her tongue hang out.

Getting ready for real.

Ready, all the way down to her toes.

Hmmm...the excitement seems to be dwindling from Spider-Man and the fairy.
(Although the ladybug seems to be nearly quivering with excitement yet.)

Maybe it's time to quit taking pictures and get my sweatshirt on.

And away they go!

This is me

"This is me.
I used my hand.
Those are my hair."

New look in the girls' room

As of this afternoon, the view into the girls' room from the hallway is a little different.

Now you see this.

What is it, you ask?

Why, bunk beds of course!

Wonderful, wonderful bunkbeds -- with 2 sets of drawers in them ... and shelves!

P.S. Yes, that is a toddler bed taking the place of the bottom bunk right now. It has more character that way.

Another hairdo

Up until Evan got his hair cut Saturday, he'd still been enjoying giving himself hair dos before school some mornings. This was the morning when he wanted a Dennis the Menace hair do (even though he doesn't know who Dennis the Menace is). I had to help him with this one instead of him doing it himself though.

Who knew it could be so fun to do a boy's hair!

How to draw

A couple of weeks ago, Evan checked out a Halloween How-to-draw book from the library.
He was hooked. He spent all of his "home time" drawing for a few days.
It's possible that I joined him a few times also.
Here he is, concentrating hard and deciding which drawing to do next.

And this has nothing to do with drawing, other than I took it while he had been drawing.
I wanted to show him that his face was dirty and had unexplained blue spots.
But, mostly you notice his eyes in the picture.
Just like in every picture.
Man, I like this kid!

End of soccer

So, the end of soccer was actually a while ago. But I'm behind on posting pictures. Here is a picture from Evan and Kendra's last (and warmest) soccer game this fall. They enjoyed playing. They had a great coach. And they still liked it at the end. Success!
